The General Manager for Sodexo’s dining services, Mary Sossaman left PLNU to return “to Oregon to care for family” according to Associate Vice President for Financial and Auxiliary Services. Her last day was Feb. 28.

“We thank Mary for her service to PLNU, and we wish her well,” said Cindy Chappell in an email to faculty and staff. “Sodexo has started the process of recruiting for a new General Manager and in the meantime we will have GMs from other schools assisting with operations, as well as our District Manager (and former PLNU general manager), Jason Adams.”

Sossaman was contacted by The Point Weekly but declined to comment.

No students were notified about this change besides the student Caf workers and the ASB’s Caf sub-committee.

“All we have heard is that Mary is headed back home to be with her family,” said Tyler Merrihew, chair of the sub-committee. “The good news is that Cindy has told us that she would like to have us (the caf committee) involved in the interview process that chooses the her replacement.”

Students who work in the Caf were asked to comment on the situation but also declined.

There will be an interim manager while they are finding a replacement.
