Surfer of the Week: Zach Evans

Introduction: Zach Evans grew up in Santa Cruz participating in water polo and swimming. He was always at the beach and occasionally surfed with his friends, but started getting more into surfing during his junior year of high school. This was when he began to cut out water polo and dedicate more time outside of the pool and in the ocean.

Zach grew to love surfing because, “it’s a good workout, you get your Vitamin D, and you get to hang out with your friends.” Zach chose Point Loma because he wanted to keep surfing as much as he could outside of Santa Cruz and the Kinesiology program roped him into getting a great education at the same time.

Zach is graduating this spring and he plans on working as a personal trainer and eventually become an EMT so that he can pursue his dream job of becoming a firefighter.
