Be a Comedian for a Night

If you love a hearty laugh, the finest city will not disappoint you. San Diego is filled with stand-up comedy shows that can be enjoyed at several bars and clubs on any day of the week. But what you may not know is that you too can become an active member of the comedy scene by participating in one of the many open mics hosted around town. If you have never stepped on a stage before, open mics are a great way to break the ice and build confidence. You don’t need to be the next Louis C.K. or Sarah Silverman to have some fun delivering jokes to a crowd that may or… may not be interested in what you have to say. From least to most popular, here are five places where you can get your feet wet!

  1. Winston’s Bar

Winston’s is not a comedy club, but a dive bar. That’s why it’s so much fun. Its crowds are eclectic and at times rowdy. Be prepared to laugh as you provide laughs.
