Editor in Chief
Grace Chaves is a fourth-year multimedia journalism major. She works as a trending news writer for Parade and a writing & research assistant for Viewpoint Magazine. She plans to pursue entertainment journalism after college, believing in the importance of telling the untold stories of actors, artists and their work. When she’s not writing, she loves watching movies or kicking back with a good book.
Co-Editor in Chief
Zoey Peters is a third-year multimedia journalism and Spanish double major passionate about storytelling that humanizes people and examines how national issues shape local communities. She previously worked as the opinion editor for The Point and is excited to now be working as the co-editor-in-chief. After graduation, she hopes to work in international journalism. She is a director of Community Ministries, and in her free time, she can be found running, reading, playing cards with friends, or doing anything outside!
Copy Editor
Spencer Gorka is a third-year multimedia journalism and media communications double major. She serves as a news writer for One America News Network and volunteers her time as an editor-at-large with her high school creative journal. She plans to pursue a career in the television news industry and hopes to become a producer or director. In her free time, she enjoys making coffee, writing novels and reading lots of books. She’s a movie enthusiast and a history whiz.
News Editor
Angelica Moser is a third-year multimedia journalism major. She has served as a reporter for her hometown newspaper and magazine for five years. She is also a Television Script writer for a national news network, covering topics ranging from politics, the economy and breaking news. Moser enjoys music journalism and has created a column highlighting senior music majors’ portfolios as well as produced a documentary about the San Diego Padres’ live organist. Outside of journalism, Moser enjoys playing piano on her church’s worship team, doing arts and crafts, spending time with friends and reading her Bible. As she continues exploring the many avenues of journalism, Moser attributes her career journey to Jesus Christ.
Features Editor
Kailyn Collette is a third-year business marketing major with a Multimedia Journalism minor. After graduation, she wants to pursue a career in brand management while maintaining her passion for writing.
Sports Editor
Keira Evans is a third-year journalism major with a minor in media communications. She is a communications intern for the San Diego Wave FC and loves anything to do with sports. After graduation, she plans to get a job in sports media. In her free time, you’ll find her reading, at a concert/sports game, or adventuring with her friends.
Arts & Culture Editor
Adee Tulcan is a fourth-year biology major with a data analytics minor. She has been a writer for The Point for the past three years while also conducting research in the fields of cellular biology and orthopedics, with publications in the peer-reviewed journal Spine. She has also presented her research at academic conferences, including the Annual Orthopaedic Conference at Loma Linda University and the West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference at Cal State University San Marcos. Combining her passion for science and storytelling, she enjoys exploring the intersections of culture, art and science in her editorial work. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in medicine while maintaining her passion for the music industry.
Opinion Editor
Emily Jones is a third-year child and adolescent development major with a journalism minor. After graduation, she hopes to find a career in speech-language pathology (SLP), while still continuing to write and hopefully publish a novel one day.
Multimedia Manager
Makenna Richardson is a fourth-year multimedia communications major with a graphic design minor. She spent last semester as the arts and culture editor for Blending Magazine in Florence, Italy. She plans to work in marketing and do freelance graphic design post-graduation while pursuing her master’s degree. In her free time, she likes to travel, be by the beach, run and paint.
Layout Editor
Hailey Snyder is a fourth-year graphic design interactive web major. Over the summer, she spent time with her family in Florida, and they went on boat trips to various spots around the island she lives on. She loves reading and playing video games in her off time. Her plans after graduation are to become a graphic designer for a video game company, hoping to use her faith and creativity in that field.
Social Media Manager
Mackenzie Lackey is a third-year media communication major with a public relations minor. She hopes to pursue a career in social media management after graduation, with interests in sports media and public relations.
Business Manager
Abby Pickett is a fourth-year Philosophy major. They have always been interested in writing and want to blend their studies and interests into a career that lets them explore big questions through storytelling. Whether through teaching, writing a novel, or a report on digging for rocks in South America, they want to keep wrestling with the same themes of ethics, meaning, and human experience they’ve spent their degree examining. When they’re not planning their future, Abby loves reading, drawing and is always listening to music.
