‘Strange Texture, Good Toppings’
Rating: 5 out of 10
“They definitely need to make the consistency of the smoothie part better. I thought it had a weird texture, but the fruit and toppings were pretty good.” – Mackenzie Collins, junior
‘Healthy, Needs Better Variety’
Rating: 6 out of 10
“I think it’s great that they are trying to offer healthier options. The toppings were great. I would love it more though if there was more of a fruit variety. Also, I think they need to work on the açaí’s consistency because I’ve had one where it was too thick and one where it was too thin.” – Franceska Flores, junior
‘Tastes Like Peanut Butter?’
Rating: 6.5 out of 10
“It weirdly tastes like peanut butter. I think there was peanuts in it with the oats. It’s more of the ice cream scoop açaí rather than the blender açaí, which I know people have particular opinions on. But I think it’s a good on-the-go option” – Tess Murray, senior
‘Tastes Great, Should Be Served All Day’
Rating: 7 out of 10
“PBC Açaí Bowls are actually so great. It’s such a fun and relatively healthy item on the menu… Plus they’re huge! Pretty limited topping options, but açaí base itself is so tasty. I think the biggest bummer is that they’re only served at breakfast time…Some of us like them for lunch or even dinner!” – Lauren Cazares, junior
‘Comparatively Terrible, Relatively Incredible’
Rating: 8 out of 10
“I’ve had it seven times already. I’ve spent $100 at PBC this semester already and $80 of that was on the açaí bowl. Compared to Northside Shack’s açaí bowl, it’s terrible. Compared to normal food, it’s alright. Relative to PBC’s food, it’s incredible. It’s soft and creamy, but at the same time it’s hands down the thickest açaí bowl I’ve ever had.I’ve heard a lot of people don’t like it, but I do.” – Jack Shelby, junior
