It’s not often that PLNU gets the honor of being immortalized in song via national radio, and it’s also uncommon for award winning radio show host and author Garrison Keillor to visit the university’s main campus, but recently we got both.
The Grammy and Peabody award winner as well as Radio Hall of Fame member visited the LJML department Jan. 20 where he spoke with students and faculty about his long career in media.
“I love coming to San Diego, and every time I come, I visit this evangelical school on this beautiful, beautiful hill overlooking the Pacific, It’s Point Loma Nazarene College (sic), it’s just a gorgeous campus,” said Keillor to his radio audience after visiting PLNU.
He was in San Diego to record his show “A Prairie Home Companion,” during which he performed a song about PLNU’s surfing culture.
