After starting 2-3 this season, the PLNU Men’s Basketball team improved to 6-3. They will go on a five-game road trip to start their conference play. The Sea Lions will take on Azusa Pacific on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Azusa, California for their first conference game.

Skyler White was named the PacWest Defender of the Week for the week of Nov. 20-26. White recorded six blocks, contributing to the Sea Lions’ three wins last week. The senior also helped the Sea Lions hold opponents to 64.3 points per game. White is the first player to earn a PacWest weekly honor this season.

The PLNU Women’s Basketball team is 5-2 on the season. They most recently played in the Thanksgiving Classic held in the Golden Gymnasium where they beat Cal State Los Angeles 73-54, but suffered losses from California Baptist and Cal State Dominguez Hills. Their next game will be an exhibition match at home on Wednesday against Bethesda at 7 p.m.

Senior forward, Roya Rustamzada, earned the Sea Lion of the Week award for the week of Nov. 20-26 after she became the third player in PLNU history and the second player in NCAA Division II this season to record a triple-double against Montevallo. Rustamzada put up 14 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in the Sea Lions’ 114-72 victory.
