A Byzantine style icon, intended to serve as a reminder of the Christian tradition, is set to move from the Keller Gallery to the Ryan Library on Oct. 27. Andrew Nosal, Point Loma Nazarene University biology professor, who commissioned the piece, worked closely with Aidan Hart, a research associate at The Institute of Orthodox Christian Studies since February of 2023 to turn his vision into a reality.
“The intention behind commissioning this painting was that it would be something Point Loma would have forever, so we wanted to find a permanent place to display it, where people could see it regularly, could be inspired by its message and can be reminded about their relationship with the rest of creation and the creator,” Nosal said.
