Bond, Blunt Bond

By: Susan Agee Borland, Blunt Poet Laureate

There is a bond among people who travel

Together through the passage of times.

Even our unknown companions are linked

In search of a truth beyond rhymes.

Young uneasy selves feel an empty space

Hidden under our swagger and pride.

An eerie sensation that we once held the key

To a garden where peace will abide.

Such a merry band of pirates we

Fighting battles or hard at play.

There is peril around and within each of us

Yet we celebrate and, bluntly, pray.

Welcome to spirits that join in on our path

And all nod to your cause and your dream.

Remember the reason you belong with us

And strive to climb ever upstream.
