Concerts You Can’t Miss

One of the worst feelings for us music-lovers is to realize that our favorite band or artist will be having a concert nearby, but we can’t go because the show is sold out. With the dozens of great artists coming to San Diego this year, it would be a shame to miss out. So before you spend all of your money on coffee and your Netflix account, check out these upcoming concerts that will be in San Diego this September and see which artists you would like to experience live.

Chance the Rapper
If you’re into rap but you’re looking for something a little different from the typical songs you hear on the radio, Chance the Rapper might just be the artist for you. With his gravelly voice, unique mashup of genres, and his witty lyrics, Chance the Rapper easily stands out amongst the crowd.
Date: Sept. 15 at 8pm
Location: Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU

Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood is one of today’s most beloved country singers. She is known for her impressive vocal range and the emotional stories weaved into her lyrics. I think we’ll all be praying “Jesus, take the wheel,” as we scramble to buy tickets.

Luke Bryan
Seeing Luke Bryan onstage and hearing his southern drawl in a live concert setting is a country music-lover’s dream. If you like country music, odds are you’ll like Luke Bryan. It’s as simple as that.

Location: Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista

Jack Johnson
Banana pancakes, ukulele, and beachy tunes. Need I say more? Jack Johnson is the perfect musician for good vibes and a chill, happy atmosphere.

Location: Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds

Lindsey Stirling
Violin music is beautiful enough by itself. But mix it with the electronic effects that is Lindsey Stirling’s uniquely orchestrated music, and it’s downright epic. Stirling writes from her heart, and her orchestral/electronic pieces are so emotional, that they do not require words to be understood.

Cold War Kids
Often recognized for their songs “First,” “Hang me up to Dry,” and “Miracle Mile,” this band has been said to have “an impassioned live act,” according to Billboard.com. This indie rock band is perfect for an evening of laid-back music.
Date: Sept. 21 at 8pm
Location: The Observatory in North Park

Tegan and Sara
These identical twin sisters have been evolving their music style continuously since their first album in 1999. Whether you like indie pop, indie rock, emo punk, synthpop, or simply songs that will make you feel the feels, Tegan and Sara will speak to your music taste.
Date: Sept. 25 at 8pm
Location: The Observatory in North Park

Oh Wonder
The city of London has blessed the music world with the beautiful, and often mournful, musical style of the male and female duo, Oh Wonder. This group is just what you need if you want to listen to relaxed, yet emotional electronic ballads and sink into your feelings.
Date: Sept. 27 at 8pm
